CHOA is a non-profit association that promotes the understanding of strata property living and the interests of strata property owners by providing advisory services, education, advocacy, publications and resources and support for its members. CHOA actively assists its members, and the strata industry, to ensure strata living is a positive experience.
The Council is made up of industry and consumer representatives. Each member brings a unique background to assist Council in fulfilling its mandate. Both voting and non-voting Council members are selected for their expertise as insurance professionals and their demonstrated interest in serving the public. Council’s mandate is to provide a level of protection to the public pertaining to the sale of insurance products and services under the framework provided by the Insurance Act. Established in 1964, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is the national industry association representing Canada’s private home, auto and business insurers. Its member companies represent 90% of the Canadian property and casualty (P&C) insurance market. IBC works on a number of fronts to increase public understanding of home, auto and business insurance.
